Welcome to the 30th week of My Sexy Saturday and our final Saturday of 2013.

Have you ever noticed as a writer or reader that sometimes the setting more than helps with the romance? Sexy you tonight can be about that moonlit walk on the beach. Or how about star gazing in the desert. Or maybe just a beautiful pool in the hero’s backyard. They all sexy you tonight. Where sexy is can be just as important as just being sexy. Whether it is on the highest mountain top, in the deepest ocean or in space, it will be special for your characters. So give us your best sexy you tonight. Tell us about that special place where only lovers go.

We writers love to write all about those special places: that first meeting, that first kiss, the first time they make love and exactly where it’s all done. We all know that each of us has a different idea of a sexy setting. It can be the look shared across the room, the nerd who makes our heart pound, the construction worker who can’t wait to get in our hot tub or the fireman that we bought at the charity auction. Sexy has nothing to do with looks or status or even wealth. It doesn’t demand perfection and it isn’t pretentious but it does make us want to read those books.

Yes, we all love sexy!

You’re one sexy character. Yes, you…that heroine or hero in the novel I just read. Sometimes you’re kick-ass, sometimes you’re demure but every time you are one sexy thing. Writers who tells a romantic story will have characters with a side that is all so sexy. All characters can have it as well…whether male or female…and it all depends upon your definition of sexy. Yes, sexy…that sexy look, that sexy talk, that sexy body. You sexy thing. You all know what I’m saying. That special moment, place and character. You’ve just had that sexy thing. You feel everything, it smells wonderful and you want to share those times with your readers. Wasn’t that a kick?

Welcome to the 24th week of My Sexy Saturday.

For weeks now, we’ve talked about sexy, being sexy, wanting sexy, needing sexy. Yes, all of us need a little sexy in our lives. Sexy is the characters we write, the things they do and the way they act. They can be sexy in the most harrowing of circumstances and yet come across as the sexiest thing alive.

Readers love them, writers love to write them. But sexy is more than the act of making love. Sexy is books. Sexy is reading. Sexy is the boy next door who you’ve seen every day of your life.

Sexy is more than the word means. It really has nothing to do with looks or status. It has to do how a person feels about themselves and their world. It isn’t a size nor does it demand perfection.

Yet no matter what the characters do or don’t do, every person has their own definition of sexy. We as writers love to share it with you the reader.
